Do not purchase the extended protection…

Do not purchase the extended protection plans, they are a total scam. They cover nothing. I specifically asked when purchasing the two chairs about damage caused by dogs and was assured that the chairs would be replaced. When I tried to file a claim, I was told that damage by dogs is not covered, only stains. If the chair is stained by the animal, they will send you a cleaning product. The chairs are squeaking terribly when they rock. That is also not covered. In fact, nothing is covered. I was purposefully lied to in order to get me to purchase the two plans for $300. Never again. Lowes and Home Depot here I come!

No military discount in a BIG military town.....

We live in a BIG military town and Menard's does not offer a military discount of any kind. Home Depot does and Lowes does too; (although Lowe's doesn't make it easy. But that is for another review). Menard's DOES offer a 11% rebate, but, you have to keep your receipts, fill out a long form, send it in and wait. And then, the rebate comes in the form of a gift card for their own store. Unfortunately, they are also more expensive than the other two stores too. IF they offered a military discount, that savings might have offset the higher prices. Sigh....I was all excited to have another option where I could shop for home improvement items, but unfortunately, they are now my last resort. They could fix this problem by offering a military discount. Maybe they will wise up before too long.

99% Terrible...

Terrible all the way around. Not sure if it's COVID related, or lack of decent workforce or maybe a combination. Not a good experience from any department. Where do I start?..., poor customer service, exchange is a nightmare even though they shipped the wrong item, damaged special ordered products, wrong special order products delivered, poor follow-through, etc. I would not go back if it wasn't for trying to use up the 11% rebate vouchers. I feel as if those are free money that I would be throwing away; but it might be better for my mental health in the long run... The past 6 months has been absolutley terrible at Manchester, MO location. Home Depot and Lowes are having their issues as well, but they pale in comparison to my experiences at Menards.

Wanted to buy 3 12' 9/16 X12' crown…

Wanted to buy 3 12' 9/16 X12' crown moulding. Too long to fit in truck safely, asked could they cut each in half. They wanted to charge me $2 per cut ($6 extra). Come on Menards lumber prices already too high for you to try to rip the customer for an additional $6 bucks. Stop it.

Going to home depot!

They kept this ridiculous anti constitutional facemask b. S going as long as they could. Do they force people to wear masks during flu season(which kills thousands EVERY year? Hmmm politics going crazy. God Bless The Home Depot for not taking our everyday freedoms

The return policy for this company is utter garbage! If you buy a gas powered item that was not satisfying, they will not allow you to return it, even 1 day afterwards!

Patio chairs

When Lowes refused to accommodate us we went to Menards for our patio furniture online. We were pleasantly surprised with the product. It was delivered a day ahead of schedule. An employee actually called to make sure I knew it was a display.! Top service. Thankyou!

ILLEGAL RESTOCKING FEE

We ordered part of a garage door costing about $400 and a month later it came in was not what we ordered. Being upset we want our money back, BUT they charged us $120 restocking fee. WRONG. PLEASE READ! Take it to managers attention if your at Camby it's a waste of your time. Call customer service *******800 or contact the state Department of Consumer Affairs. Retailers don't like this because they'll get fine Heavily. REMEMBER the state laws says It's A illegal Restocking fee if... 1. Being charged if the merchandise is defective. 2. Being charge for delivery that was wrong. 3. Being charge for delivery that was later than the promised time. 4. They exceeded 50% of your purchase. 5. Here's the big one one of the most important! If you had bought a merchandise that has a restocking fee if returned and you were not adequately disclosed about the restocking fee policy then you do not have to pay! Sometimes it's not worth going up the ladder and if that is what is happening let them know from the very beginning like we did tell them" we are not going to stand on here and argue with you we wil contact the state Department of consumer affairs and I will get my money back and you will get a fine it's your choice. Because the consumer affairs attorney that is free will tell you it doesn't matter how little the cost is or how big the cost is we are here to stop illegal restocking fees which is taking advantage of the customers money that's why they get fined. Good luck

Stay away

Received something damaged in shipping. No customer service telephone number. Email and it takes days to respond. Then they says things like you should not have tried that. We can't refund now since you opened damaged item. Four days later

Should have went to Lowes

Many times this store has let me down. Never mind the "11%" rebate crap, but I ordered online and then cancelled. Of course, a 25% RESTOCKING FEE?! I will always go to Lowes and show my Military ID for an immediate 10% discount. Not sure why I wasn't doing this the whole time. Hello, Lowe's!

Do not shop at Menards

Do not shop at Menards! I ordered 7 prehung interior doors then three weeks later received a phone call telling me that they arrived and are so badly damaged they need to reorder, so another three weeks go by and the second set comes in again damaged, but I’m told to come in and look maybe I can accept with a price adjustment, so I look at the doors, I cannot believe they are shipped with hardly any protection. I agree to take some of them with a price adjustment, then they get delivered a week later and they are damaged! So they finally picked them up and I go in to get a refund on my credit card they won’t refund the full amount! Because the second order was made when they had a 11% rebate (which is nothing more than a store credit) they would only refund minus the 11%! I told them I don’t want the store credit still wouldn’t do it, I will never shop at Menards again it’s the Walmart of home improvement stores.

Today 3/24/21 I called and spoke with Kayla P (10:27 am) (in the cabinet department). I was just calling to check on my special order. During that call I asked her about the counter top template, as to why I have not received it yet. She looked and it was never ordered as the Cashier Jelani didn't scan order sku with all the other order papers. She (Kayla) called me back at 2:53 pm leaving a messing informed me she would have to cancel my special order and reorder to so I could received the template, which would cost me the extra fee of $34.95, I returned her call at 3:13 pm wanting to know why, since it was Merards fault not mine, even know I was upset I went ahead and paid for it, to save myself grief, then later this evening Virginia G called me at 6:48 pm to inform me that was an error in the price I would have to pay to get my counter top template. It would not be 34.95 but it would be 90.86. I asked why that was when the cashier is the one that made the error and then Kayla made the error. I asked to speak to a manager. I spoke with manager John R. He was very arrogant, which just added to my frustration. When I asked for the names of everyone that was involved, he gave the names of everyone except the cashier, he stated Merards don't have record of that, he informed me I would have to look on the bottom of my receipt (which i did), he then told me he would make sure to talk with the person that made this error. After that comment I feel he was lying, which is fine whatever, as I have all the paperwork for this order. I did go ahead and pay the 90.86 as Merards has the upper hand as if I didn't pay I would be stuck with a counter top that could possible not work, have to pay more money to reorder the correct item, or I could cancel the entire order and be charges a 25% restocking fee. Not that anything will be done, I'm still emailed Merards to make them aware how upset and frustrated I am as a customer. I made a big purchase and it wasn't correct and I'm the one paying for Menards error. After this total experience, this will be my last purchase (yes I'm aware I'm one person) with Menards, I will encourage others to not shop with Menards. I understand that errors happen, but 3 is a little much. This is all very disappointing and I hope this don't have to anyone else!!!

Nearly impossible. No customer service phone #'s provided by Menards. Have been waiting over a month for a response to my request and issues. Have also requested updates multiple times within that month with absolutely no response. Hopefully this is only because of Covid-19 but I from what I've heard the Customer Service is always almost unreachable

Was hoping for the simple convenience of online ordering and getting it shipped to my house. I was wrong, the amount of time I've had to put into trying to resolve my shipping issues has been awful. Been a month since I started asking Menards for help with the issues. Still no response.
